Dr. Mascarenas was introduced to dentistry at a very young age. As an only child growing up in nearby Avondale, AZ, he spent a lot of time with his extended family in Mexico, where about a half-dozen of his relatives, including his uncle, work as dentists.
Once Dr. Mascarenas decided on a dental career, he went to ASU for his bachelor’s degree. Then, he attended the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health at AT Still University in Mesa. During his time at ATSU, he met his wife, who is also a dentist.
After graduating with his dental degree in 2018, Dr. Mascarenas completed a one-year residency at St. Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic in Phoenix, where he further developed his skills in dental implants, wisdom tooth surgery, and endodontics.
After working as an associate dentist, Dr. Mascarenas decided to open up Sonoran Dental Studio so that he could pursue his own unique vision of dentistry. At our office, he wants to provide a friendly, welcoming environment where patients of all ages and all walks of life can get the care they need.
From preventive care to cosmetic makeovers and restorative dental treatments, Dr. Mascarenas offers expert care for all ages. And with our advanced technology, we ensure the very best outcomes for everyone who walks into our doors.
Outside of the office, Dr. Mascarenas enjoys spending time with his wife Desiree, and their son Dante, who was born in February 2024. When he’s not busy being a husband and a father, Dr. Mascarenas is a big film buff and also loves watching football on Sundays during the NFL season. Go Broncos!
As an Arizona native, Ashley brings 18 years of front office experience to Sonoran Dental Studio, making her an invaluable part of the team. With expertise in all aspects of dental administration, she is dedicated to creating a smooth, welcoming experience for every patient from the moment they walk through the door. Ashley enjoys building lasting relationships and helping patients feel informed and cared for throughout their visit.
Outside of the office, Ashley loves spending time outdoors and making memories with her four daughters. Her dedication to family and community shines through in her warm, friendly approach to patient care.
Patient Care Coordinator
Angelina, who goes by Angie, has been working in dentistry since 2019. She enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visits, knowing that going to the dentist can sometimes be stressful. Angie takes pride in creating a calm, welcoming, and friendly environment where every patient feels cared for.
Outside of the office, Angie enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Shoto and Luffy. They love exploring new hiking trails, swimming, and spending time outdoors together. In her free time, she also enjoys reading and getting lost in a good book.
Lead Dental Assistant
Kathy has called Buckeye home for over 20 years and is originally from Wisconsin. With more than 25 years of experience as a dental hygienist, she is passionate about periodontics and helping patients achieve healthy gum tissue to support their overall health and well-being. Kathy is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care and enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients.
Outside of the office, Kathy is happily married and enjoys spending time with her three children and two grandchildren. In her free time, she loves hiking, running, baking, and making memories with her family.
Registered Dental Hygienist
You can relax in our waiting area, enjoy a free beverage, and fill out your forms if you haven’t already done so online. Then, when it’s time for your visit, one of our dental team members will bring you back to an operating room.
Our operating rooms include TVs and warm blankets for your comfort. To begin, our team will take X-rays of your smile. Then, Dr. Mascarenas will perform a comprehensive oral exam and look for signs of cavities, gum disease, and more. Dr. Mascarenas will discuss his findings with you, and if any follow-up treatments are necessary.
Then, depending on the health of your mouth, our team will scale, polish, and floss your smile. Not only does this keep your smile beautiful, but it helps reduce harmful plaque and tartar buildup, too.
Lastly, stop by our front desk on your way out to schedule your next six-month checkup or any other necessary follow-ups. That’s it!
